RCPowers Mig 29 V2 build.

My latest project is the RCPowers Mig 29 v2.

Part 1; Building the shell.

It's a drizzly day and the wife won't let me use spray glue indoors anymore so the KF2 will go on as soon as it's dry outside!

You know what? I really enjoyed building this one! Everything goes together like a dream and unlike some of the other plans most of it goes together in a clear and logical order. You rarely find yourself with a piece in each hand thinking to yourself "which would be easiest to put on first?"

You don't have to look over your shoulder at the build instructions very often at all if you have a bit of experience under your belt meaning you can just put on some tunes, settle in and enjoy the experience.

The result was it was very easy to produce a nice clean build.

I'm going with elevon only up front but I'm putting the servos in the right place to do linked 4x4 later on. I've been told it flys quite well on elevon only so I want to give that a go first! Contrary to most people I don't mind the quirky nature of elevon only setups comapred to 4x4 or elevator/aileron setups.

I'll be putting in my "standard" choices of an RCTimer 2826-6 (50g, 2200Kv), 6x4 prop, RCTimer 30 programmable ESC (brake off, medium timing) and balance it out with both 1600mAh (floaty midrange flying) and 2200mAh 3s batteries (faster top-end flight).

I'll probably widen the prop slot out to fit a 7x4 at some point just for that little bit of extra grunt on the 2200mAh battery.

The other thing I considered was modding it for EDF and removing the prop slot. The nacells are big enough to take a 50mm (55mm at a pinch with a little work) EDF unit. I ended up sticking with the prop though, if I decide to look at EDF later on I'll build a second plane.

Part 2; Installing Electronics
Motor installation;

Electronics installation still to come!
